Wapiti Whitewater Kayaking Club - is looking for a summer coach for our season (May - September, but willing to work with school schedules) in the Grande Prairie area. We will have a Canada Summer Jobs Grant so the person would have to be between 15 - 30, but we prefer 18+. Preference given to paddlers who have several years of experience, and who have or are eligible for Level 1 instructor certificates, but we are willing to train. You must have your own vehicle to get back and forth to work.
Accommodations are available in Grande Prairie (one of our kayakers grandparents have a bedroom/living room/bathroom in their basement and are willing to let a coach stay - ask Jess - it's a great place).
Our programs run Monday evenings for Women Only, Tuesday evenings for Youth, Wednesday evenings for Club nights, and then some weekend events as well as daytime events for summer youth programs. Bow Valley Kayak Club - Canmore
Are you passionate about the outdoors, adventure, and gaining hands-on experience as a river guide? Bow Valley Kayak Club wants to employ and train the next generation of swiftwater kayak guides. This River Guide Practicum offers aspiring guides the chance to develop technical skills, build confidence, and learn the ins and outs of leading safe and memorable river experiences. Participants will receive training and mentorship while assisting our director of operations to organize and provide certified kayak programming on Alberta’s rivers. The candidate will begin under close supervision, progressing to more independence throughout the summer.
