Canoe Kayak Canada's River Rescue Course

Purpose Of Program

  • To provide participants with training in river safety, accident prevention, rescue procedures and basic rescue techniques.
  • The CKC Swift Water Rescue course is designed to be flexible to allow for different river participants to learn about River safety and rescue.

Date: Sat April 12 - Sun April 13

Time: 9am-6pm both days

Location: Calgary or Kananaskis, water dependent.

Participant profiles (anyone working or recreating in or around rivers):

  • Kayakers
  • Canoeists
  • Rafters
  • SUP
  • Fish Biologists
  • Land Surveyors

Participant Pre-requisites:

Comfortable being in moving water with a PFD on. Course is generally taught on a Class II river, but can be run on Class I or Class III
