Hello , Spring has been amazing so far! The focus has been on planning and setting people up with the tools for the season. Instructor Training and Evaluations are ongoing. There are still a few spots left for Evaluations to take place at the 3 Rivers Rendezvous. Contact Mike or Chuck to get on the list. Spirit North Leader TrainingThe first weekend of May we had the pleasure of training up 14 Spirit North leaders from Stoney Nakoda, Maskwacis & Montreal Lake, SK. With the support of Robbie McAvoy (Bow Valley Kayak Club), Lori David (Rocky Canoe Club), Brendan Curson (Chilliwack), and Mike Holroyd (AWA) we were able to run the course in Canmore and Mini Thni. The strength of the program will be the amazing leaders Spirit North has chosen to be part of the program. We were all impressed by their quick learning and already well developed leaderships skills from xc skiing and other sports. We can't wait help work with them more over the coming months and years! Spirit North will be directly supporting Stoney Nakoda to run spring and summer kayak programming using the AWA travelling fleet of boats. We look forward to seeing lots of youth on the water soon.
