The Provincial Championships will be held September 12/13 at the Kananaskis River.

We have water scheduled with TransAlta and a great mix of events, including Freestyle, Boater Cross, and Slalom. Waterwerks Kayak Club and Alberta Slalom Canoe Kayak are assisting in the hosting and we have some great prizes. 

This year we have had to put an overall 50 participant maximum on the events due to youth participation and provincial sport guidelines. We do welcome parents and friends to volunteer, watch and camp.

We have had an outstanding response to the membership survey. If you would like to participate in it, you still have time.

The results will be complied and will help AWA set priorties as we develop strategic plans for the coming years. Watch for a similar survey in coming months with specific River Enhancement questions. Whitewater parks, facilites and access has shown up as a top priority for many and we want to dive deeper into the opportunities.
